Experience

Dr Wilson Ee Jen Wang is an orthopaedic surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.

His specialty is treatment of joint and bone problems, including primary and complex knee and hip replacement surgery, as well as other forms of joint reconstructions, arthroscopy for knee and hip joints, and meniscal, cartilage and ligament procedures. He also treats joint and bone problems in other areas such as the foot, ankle and upper limbs. He has a keen interest in holistic care and maintaining the functional health and well-being of the musculoskeletal system in the body, including problems and conditions due to ageing and injury.

He was previously the head and senior consultant in the department of orthopaedic surgery and division of hip and knee surgery at the National University Hospital (NUH).

Dr Wang graduated from the University of London. He continued his surgical training rotations at NUH and St Mary’s Hospital in London (now part of Imperial College London), and completed his subspecialty fellowship training in joint replacement and reconstruction at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, UK. He was also awarded the Doctor of Philosophy degree in orthopaedic surgery and traumatology by the University of Oxford. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow, UK.

Dr Wang continues to hold the post as associate professor at NUH.

He previously chaired the residency advisory committee and the orthopaedic surgery clinician workgroup at the Ministry of Health. He was a former president of the ASEAN Arthroplasty Association, chairman of the Asia Pacific Hip Society, and president of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association.

Dr Wang is a recipient of SPRING Singapore’s Excellent Service Award.
