Dr Ng Chin Hin is a haematologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
He specialises in leukaemia and other blood cancers. He also has experience in the management of general haematological conditions such as clotting disorders, anaemia and bleeding disorders.
He was the leukaemia lead at the National University Cancer Institute of Singapore (NCIS).
Dr Ng graduated from the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, UK. With an interest in haematology, he went on to earn a certificate as a specialist in haematology and became a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, UK. In addition to haematology, he has a keen interest in clinical trials which led him to pursue a master’s degree in clinical investigation at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and subsequently a fellowship in early-phase clinical trials at the University College London Hospital, UK.
He is active in clinical research such as early-phase clinical trials, leukaemia stem cells and biomarkers, and leukaemia stem cells, and targeted therapies in acute myeloid leukaemia. He was the research director for the haematology division in the department of haematology-oncology at NCIS. In addition, he was also involved in undergraduate training and was an assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. He also serves in several pharmaceutical advisory boards.
Dr Ng is passionate about improving the outcomes of acute leukaemia by means of MRD-guided therapy and optimising the use of novel targeted therapy. He believes that MRD-guided treatment of acute leukaemia in combination with novel targeted therapy provides optimum treatment outcomes and minimises unnecessary toxicity.
