Dr Lu Wei is a gastroenterologist at Gleneagles Hospital, Parkway East Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Singapore.
She specialises in gastrointestinal cancer screening, endoscopic ultrasound, cirrhosis, fatty liver, hepatitis B and C, liver cancers, and pancreatobiliary disorders. She is experienced in performing diagnostic and screening scopes, and therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as polypectomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy insertion, endoscopic treatment of bleeding ulcers, ligation and injection of varices.
Dr Lu developed the endoscopic ultrasound service at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) and served in the hospital’s endoscopy committee. She was also a senior consultant gastroenterologist there.
She graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and underwent internal medicine and gastroenterology training at the National University Hospital. She obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians, UK, and received her master’s degree and gastroenterology specialist accreditation. Subsequently, under the Health Manpower Development Plan Award, she pursued further trainings overseas in liver disorders and endoscopic ultrasound. She has been practising medicine for more than 15 years.
Dr Lu was a clinical lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. She was also a clinical physician faculty member in the National University Health System’s gastroenterology senior residency programme and was involved in teaching gastroenterology trainees. She is also a clinic preceptor to Master of Nursing students.
She was an invited speaker for the IBS Support Group Singapore Public Forum, National Foundation for Digestive Diseases and World Hepatitis Day. She is a recipient of the Service Ambassador award at NTFGH.
