Experience

Dr Paul Lim is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore.

He specialises in the management of cardiac disorders and diseases.

His area of expertise is the treatment of complex heart rhythm disorders utilising advanced mapping techniques with catheter ablation, and implantation or extraction of cardiac implantable electronic devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices.

Prior to private practice, Dr Lim was a senior consultant at the National Heart Centre and a visiting cardiologist at the Sengkang General Hospital in Singapore. He has been practising medicine for more than 15 years.

Dr Lim graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and obtained his membership of the Royal College of Physicians, UK, with his master's degree in internal medicine from NUS. He completed his advanced specialty training in cardiology at the National Heart Centre, Singapore. He was awarded his electrophysiology fellowship under the Health Manpower Development Plan at the Barts Heart Centre-Bart Health NHS Trust, UK, where he underwent advanced training to perform complex cardiac electrophysiology ablations and device implants/extractions. He is a certified electrophysiology specialist and cardiac device specialist accredited by the European Heart Rhythm Association.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Lim was a clinical assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. He was the director of the SingHealth Duke-NUS cardiovascular sciences residency academic clinical programme. He was also a core faculty member of SingHealth Duke-NUS cardiology senior residency programme and the SingHealth internal medicine residency programme.

He serves as an adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and has published manuscripts in various peer-reviewed journals. He has also been invited to present at local, regional, and international conferences.

Dr Lim has been recognised for his work and has received several SingHealth Service Quality Awards.
