Dr Calvin Koh is a gastroenterologist at Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore.
He also performs endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic mucosal resection of polyps, and small bowel enteroscopy, and is trained in endoscopic suturing techniques.
Prior to joining private practice, Dr Koh was a senior consultant in the department of medicine at the National University Hospital (NUH). He is currently a visiting consultant at the National University Health System (NUHS).
He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and underwent further medical training at NUH and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians, UK. He then joined the division of gastroenterology and hepatology, completing his advanced specialist training in gastroenterology. He was awarded an Academic Medicine Development Award and undertook an advanced endoscopy fellowship under the auspices of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy with the division of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the University of Florida, US, to further his interest in interventional endoscopy.
Dr Koh is a fellow of several organisations including the Academy of Medicine, the Royal College of Physicians, London, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has been practising medicine for more than 15 years.
Besides his clinical work, he was an assistant professor in NUS’ faculty of medicine, where he served as the director of the endoscopy centre at NUH, as well as a core faculty member for the NUHS’ gastroenterology training programme.
He is a recipient of the 10-year Long Service Award.
